Orthopaedic Surgery Bio: A graduate of Brigham Young University in 1985 and Chicago Medical School in 1989, Dr. Grooms completed a surgical internship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in 1989-90. As a general medical officer in the United States Marine Corp from 1990-93, he served in the Gulf War in 1990-91. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Massachusetts in 1997, in 1997, and spent two years researching articular cartilage reconstruction at the UM Tissue Engineering Lab. Dr. Grooms was certified by AAOS in 2001 by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2001.
