Orthopaedic Surgery Bio: As the senior orthopaedic surgeon at Muskogee Bone and Joint, Dr. Ruefer was certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1980. He received his BS (1968) and M.D. (1972) from the University of Iowa, and completed his orthopaedic residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, TX in 1979, serving as an Air Force Flight Surgeon from October 1973 to May 1975. Dr. Reufer has a distinguished career in medicine, currently serving as a Trustee for the Oklahoma State Medical Association and President of the Oklahoma Orthopedic Society (1996-99). He served on the Governor’s Task Force for indigent Health Care from 1987-89, is currently a member of the Oklahoma State Medical Association, the Society of Military Othropaedic Surgeons, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
